An interactive psychology study

How do humans think?

Models of the Mind turns the great frameworks of psychology into interactive experiences. Walk through Freud's psyche, climb Maslow's hierarchy, and reason through Kohlberg's moral dilemmas, then see where your own thinking lands.

About the study

For over a century, psychologists have built models to explain why we want what we want, how we decide what's right, and how our minds develop. Most people meet these ideas as static diagrams in a textbook.

This project rebuilds them as things you can interact with. Each model asks you questions, presents scenarios, and maps your answers onto the original theory, so you can see the framework through your own patterns of thought.

The models

Interactive modules are in development. Here's what's coming.

Psychoanalysis

Freud's Structural Model

Id, ego, and superego. Respond to everyday temptations and see which part of your psyche tends to win the argument.

Coming soon
Motivation

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Map your current life onto the pyramid, from physiological needs to self-actualization, and find the level you're working on.

Coming soon
Moral reasoning

Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development

Work through classic dilemmas. It's not your answer that matters but your reasoning, which places you across six stages.

Coming soon
Personality type

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

Introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, judging or perceiving. Find which of the 16 types fits how you think.

Coming soon
Development

Erikson's Psychosocial Stages

Eight life crises, from trust vs. mistrust to integrity vs. despair. Reflect on which ones still shape you.

Planned
Personality

The Big Five

Openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism, visualized as a living profile.

Planned
Cognition

Piaget's Cognitive Stages

Puzzles that reveal how thinking evolves from concrete to abstract reasoning.

Planned

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a model

Each module is grounded in the original theory and its key concepts.

  2. 2

    Interact

Answer questions, make choices in scenarios, and drag, sort, or rank ideas.

  3. 3

    See your map

Get a visual breakdown of where your thinking falls within the framework, and why.

Models of the Mind is an educational exploration, not a clinical or diagnostic tool. Many of these theories are historical and debated; each module notes where modern research agrees or disagrees.
